On September 11, OBON SOCIETY had the pleasure of meeting Geoff Smith, President of the Genealogical Forum of Oregon, at the Columbia River Maritime Museum.
For 80 years, the Genealogical Forum of Oregon has helped people discover and reconnect with their family histories by preserving records, conducting research, and providing genealogical resources. OBON SOCIETY works toward a similar goal by preserving, researching, and returning personal wartime artifacts.
We enjoyed a wonderful conversation about how our two organizations, in different ways, share a common purpose: preserving history and reconnecting families with their past.
